About The Artist

Liang Guo is a professional fine artist based in Boston, Massachusetts, US.

Guo, a native of Shenyang, China, emigrated to the US in the 1990s. Before his emigration, he was a college fine arts professor. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Lusun Academy of Fine Arts, one of the most famous and prestigious fine arts colleges in China. Under strict training by the nation’s top artists and professors, he built up a strong ability of Realism and grasped the essence of European classical oil painting materials and techniques. He combines western oil painting techniques with oriental and Zen philosophy for his artwork and forms the unique style of his own, making his art both realistic and abstract combined.

Guo has had many solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including the US, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and China. He is a frequent participant of the Salon d’Automne and the Salon Comparaisons, two prestigious exhibitions in Paris, France.

Guo has won numerous awards in both the US and China, such as The American Artist Professional League’s Best Painting Award, AAPL President’s Award, Medal of Honor Plus, Alexander Rutsch Award, Jurors’ Choice for American Landscape, and more. He is also the recipient of Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship for his achievement in art. He has been interviewed on Boston local television where his paintings were showcased.

Guo’s artwork is in private and public collections in the US, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and China.
